The City of Vallejo announces the selection and conditional employment offer to Naveed Ashraf as Chief Innovation Officer. Mr. Ashraf has 22 years of experience in Information Systems and Technology, most recently with the City of Benicia since 2014, and Meyer Corporation proceeding local service.

The Chief Innovation Officer is responsible for managing the innovation process, and resulting change management processes throughout the organization, including originating new ideas and recognizing innovative ideas of others; identifying strategies, business opportunities and new technologies; as well as developing new capabilities and architectures with partners, new business models and new industry structures to serve those opportunities. Just a few of the key technology projects Mr. Ashraf will be involved in for the City include assisting in the implementation of the Oracle early adopter program and the request for proposals process and implementation of an ERP system.

“I have a passion for technology, and a unique ability to breakdown technology to its most basic components to communicate the complex concepts in layman terms,” said Mr. Ashraf. “I am very excited and looking forward to a new chapter in my life with Team Vallejo!”

Mr. Ashraf has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business with a focus in Information Technology from University of Phoenix. He is Vice Chair of REGIS, the Solano County Geospatial Information Systems Steering Committee, and a member of the Municipal Information Systems Association of California. He resides in Fairfield with his wife and five children.

Mr. Ashraf is anticipated to begin work with the City on September 23, 2019.
