Grant Workshop for Local Arts Community
The City of Vallejo has appropriated $80,000 in grants for local arts groups and
individuals. There are three categories: Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Cultural
Events and Activities.
In conjunction with this grant program, there will be two informational workshops
on writing successful proposals. The first Zoom workshop is scheduled for
Tuesday, October 20 at 6:00pm and the second is on Sunday, October 25 at
2:00pm. This workshop will focus primarily on applying to the Commission on Arts
and Culture RFP, but grant writing for alternative funding will also be discussed.
Creativity sits at the very heart of our identity as Californians and as a people. In
this unprecedented moment, the need to understand, endure and transcend our
lived experiences through arts and culture is all the more relevant for each of us.
The arts are such an important resource for strengthening communities and
integrating the arts more fully into our lives.
