VALLEJO, CA – On Monday, February 24, the City of Vallejo has scheduled the temporary closure of the Mare Island Causeway Bridge from approximately 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. in order to conduct preparation for repairs to the vehicular and pedestrian safety barriers.
Following the preparation, repair work will begin on Tuesday, February 25, with an anticipated completion date of Friday, March 13. During this time, the Causeway Bridge will remain open to through traffic, however motorists may experience periodic delays as a result of lane narrowing and/or additional closures necessary in order to safely complete repair operations.
Motorists are encouraged to utilize State Route 37 (SR-37) to travel to and from Mare Island during this period. A map of the closure is available here.
Motorists should watch for detour signs, as well as repair crews in the area, and expect delays. The City of Vallejo thanks motorists for their patience as we work to safely conduct the repairs.
