Vallejo, CA – The public counter for Planning and Development Services Counter will be closed next week, Tuesday, May 30 through Thursday, June 1, due to a recent Covid outbreak. As a reminder, City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.

Although the State and Federal government have officially ended the Covid pandemic, the City is still required to follow employer-specific protocols mandated by CalOSHA. Large numbers of positive test results denote an outbreak, which triggers the City’s Covid Prevention Program (CPP). Under the CPP protocols, affected employees will be out of the office recovering for at least five (5) days. During the closure, the public counter and offices will be sanitized.

“Unfortunately, we will need to close the public counter next week due to severely low staffing availability and out of an abundance of caution for the public and our employees,” said Assistant City Manager Terrance Davis.

Online and telephone services will remain available to the public, but we expect slight delays due to lower-than-usual staffing numbers impacted by the outbreak. City Hall and the water billing desk will also remain open, but staffing in some departments may be sporadic due to illness.  Bill payments and other documents can still be dropped off at the front of City Hall, and many services are available online.
